But if you'd like to make some changes, we'll work with you to design a landscape plan that makes sense for your lifestyle and budget, and then we'll implement it. The art of the prune

Pruning small trees and shrubs is an art. If you don't believe me, rent "Edward Scissorhands." The average homeowner usually makes a hack job of it — literally. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Always use clean, sharp tools.
Prune rhodies and azaleas after blooms fade but before new buds set — July's a good time.
Prune dead, diseased or crossing branches.

A few strategic cuts are better than too many.
